I feel confused about my life

When you're not sure you're on the right track

Have you found yourself questioning whether you're on the “right track”?

You might be wondering whether your career is right for you, whether your relationships are meaningful or whether the life you're building actually reflects what matters to you.

Perhaps you're comparing yourself with peers who seem to have things figured out or facing unexpected changes that have made your previous plans feel uncertain.

This confusion can also show up in decision-making. You might get stuck between different options, worrying so much about making the wrong decision that you struggle to make any decision at all.

Some days you may feel unmotivated or directionless. There might be a vague sense that something isn't quite right even if you can't clearly explain what it is.

You may find yourself worrying about the future while also going back over decisions you've made in the past.

What do you actually want?

Feeling confused about your direction can come from many places.

Perhaps life hasn't unfolded in the way you expected. Your identity or relationships may be changing. You may feel dissatisfied with work or realise that the life you imagined doesn't match your everyday reality.

Sometimes there are also deeper patterns in how you approach decisions and uncertainty.

You may be very aware of what other people expect from you or what you think you should be doing, while finding it much harder to work out what you actually want.

Finding greater clarity

Therapy can help you untangle what's driving this confusion.

Through our conversations, we can explore your values and clarify what genuinely matters to you rather than simply following what you think should matter.

We can also look at patterns in your thinking that may be keeping you stuck, process disappointments or changes that have affected your direction, and develop ways of tolerating the uncertainty that comes with making decisions.

The aim isn't for me to tell you which path to take. It's to help you understand yourself well enough to make decisions with greater confidence and develop a clearer sense of how you want to move forward.
