I don’t like who I am

When you don't feel comfortable within yourself

Many people find themselves caught between who they thought they'd be and who they actually are.

You might be living with a sense of dissatisfaction with yourself or noticing patterns in how you relate to others, choices you keep making, or aspects of yourself that feel at odds with your values.

This can show up as self-criticism, low self-esteem, avoiding social situations, difficulties in relationships or simply a persistent sense that something about you needs to change.

You might compare yourself with other people and wonder why certain things seem to come more easily to them.

Or perhaps you recognise behaviours or reactions in yourself that you don't like: the way you communicate, how you handle stress or patterns that continue despite your best efforts to change them.

Sometimes this dissatisfaction is obvious. At other times, it's a quieter sense of discomfort in yourself that affects your confidence, motivation and sense of direction.

Understanding where these patterns come from

Self-awareness, even when it's uncomfortable, can be an important starting point for change.

Therapy provides space to explore what's driving the way you feel about yourself without judgement.

Together, we can look at where particular beliefs and patterns may have come from, what purpose they may have served and why they continue to show up now.

You may find that some of the ways you think about yourself are connected with earlier experiences, relationships or expectations you've carried for a long time.

Making those connections can help you understand yourself with more curiosity rather than immediately assuming that something is wrong with you.

Becoming more comfortable with yourself

Change doesn't necessarily mean becoming a completely different person.

It can mean understanding yourself more fully and becoming clearer about what genuinely matters to you, rather than being driven by old expectations or familiar patterns.

From there, you can begin making more considered choices about how you want to respond, relate to other people and move through your life.

The aim is to help you feel more comfortable and confident in who you are, with a clearer understanding of yourself and what you need.
